City of Sandy Springs
Joe brought a City of Sandy Springs closer than ever to reality in 2004 with Senate passage of the bill.  With an expected GOP House majority, this bill should pass the entire legislature in 2005.

Lower Taxes
Joe voted for Gov. Perdue's legislation to cut property taxes and reduce taxes on seniors.  He is endorsed by The Fulton County Taxpayers Association.

Improved Mobility
Joe supports Gov. Perdue's "Fast Forward" plan to accelerate transportation improvements in Sandy Springs and North Atlanta.

Traditional School Year
Joe has led the way to return to a traditional school calendar year.  He wants to give summers back to families and their children.

Fight Against Breast Cancer
Joe chaired the committee that ensured that breast cancer victims would receive their full insurance benefits so all aspects of cancer treatment would be covered.

Safer Teen Driving
Because too many teenage drivers are dying in auto accidents, Joe pushed legislation to allow parents to revoke a child's license, require mandatory driver's education and limit passengers in teen driven cars.  His work earned him a position on the Governor's Blue Ribbon Panel on Teen Driving.  Joe will continue his fight to save young lives on our streets and highways.

Tort Reform
Joe fought for real tort reform to lower insurance costs, save doctors from bankruptcy, while beginning to control the cost of healthcare for patients and businesses.

Environment
From water and air quality to tree replacement, Joe has fought to protect Georgia's environment.  His legislative efforts ensure larger buffers around Georgia's rivers and streams and he pushed for tax breaks on alternative fuels that reduce air pollution.  The Georgia League of Conservation Voters has named Joe Environmental Legislator of the Year for four straight years and has endorsed him in this race.

Israel Bonds

Joe and Congressman-elect Tom Price helped change state law so that now Georgia can finally purchase Israeli Bonds for its investment portfolio.
