Committed Republican
Joe has served the Republican Party for over 40 years.  He was appointed to the White House Press Office during the Ford and Reagan administrations, twice chaired Georgia's GOP Candidate Recruitment Committee and was State Field Director responsible for organizing Georgia's first statewide Republican Primary.

Successful Legislator
Since his 2000 election, Joe Wilkinson has been a leader in the legislature and is the Senior Deputy Whip in the Republican House Caucus.

Community Leader
A fifth generation Atlantan, Joe is committed to his community.  He has lived in Sandy Springs for almost 20 years.  He has served on dozens of non-profit boards, including the Metro Atlanta Crime Commission and the Atlanta Community Food Bank.  Joe is a retired executive of The Coca-Cola Company.

Military Officer
A retired Captain and much decorated officer in the U.S. Naval Reserve, Joe served his country in Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

Family
The father of two sons, Joe understands the importance of education and family to the well-being of Georgia's future.
